About the Author
John Sigrist relocated to South Texas from Northwest Missouri in 1975. He graduated from Pan American University, Edinburg May 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education and Studio Art. He also worked as a commercial Taxidermist in McAllen while pursuing an interest and ultimate career in the Aloe Vera business. Farming, processing, and manufacturing efforts provided him the opportunities to expand into global markets requiring substantial travel time abroad. During these travels, he began doodling on airplane napkins to pass the time, eventually evolving this hobby into a unique art form. This practice progressed to traveling with a quality sketch pad, leading to the creation of imaginative and detailed social landscapes. These artworks often feature the people encountered throughout the author’s journey, capturing the essence of diverse environments and cultures experienced along the way.
About The Book
JOHN SIGRIST ART WEEKLY JOURNAL & COLORING BOOK
Through this book, John Sigrist wanted to share his art in a format that is both interesting and useful. This book is to engage the viewer’s participation with extended doodling or coloring of the art frames. Some frames have been colored to show the viewer the direction. The weekly journal template allows an area for daily planning and notes, expenses, etc. It includes a two-year calendar for reference. Art frames have captions to add whimsy and social commentary and perhaps identify with some of the content and composition of the line drawings.
